Performa
In November 2015, MF Productions worked with Performa on the Opening Night Celebration of Performa 15 and the 10th Anniversary of the Performa Biennial. The event featured a seated supper at the Four Seasons Restaurant followed by a night of performances of Fortuna Desperata by Francesco Vezzoli and David Hallberg at St. Bartholomew�s Church and a post-performance reception at Inside Park at St. Bart�s.
In November 2014, MF Productions worked with Performa on Paradiso: A Tribute to Renaissance. The event was hosted by Franceso Vezzoli and Stefano Tonchi and featured a fully immersive food performance by Jennifer Rubell. Paradiso celebrated the great renaissance women of the contemporary art world including Toby Lewis, Wendy Fisher, Maja Hoffmann, Pamela Joyner, Cindy Sherman, Maria Baibakova, Laurie Simmons, Shelly Fox Aarons, Joan Jonas, Shirin Neshat, and Wangechi Mutu. Each element of Jennifer's food installation saluted an honoree and included rubber chickens, elixirs, swaddled squashes, vegetable trees, and custom made Vosges chocolates among other surprises.
In 2012 MF Productions worked with Performa on Relâche – The Party, a celebration of artists of the Surrealist movement in 1920's Paris. The evening was a tribute to Francis Picabia and Eric Satie, co-organizers of Relâche in Paris in 1924, and honored art historian and curator Milly Glimcher. Guests dressed in black and white haute couture enjoyed newly commissioned dance, film, and music performed on a spectacular set paying tribute to the atmosphere and spirit of the time. The evening also featured special performances by Ryan McNamara and Sia.
In the fall of 2010, MF Productions worked with Performa to produce The Red Party, a Russian Constructivist inspired party held at SIR Stage37. The evening consisted of cocktails, followed by a seated dinner for nearly 300 guests and a cotton candy dessert installation by Jennifer Rubell. Guests were encouraged to wear red to the party and Emcee Alan Cumming kept them on their toes throughout the evening. Honoree Shirin Neshat was in attendance, as were many other artists and art world figures. The event featured performances by Barbara Sukowa, Yvonne Rainer, Chica Vas and Sexual Energies School: Leningrad, featuring Zach Layton, Nick Hallett, Brian Chase, and Mike Skinner. DJ Tikka Masala had guests dancing until the end of the evening.
